About Us
DeLiteful Foods is proud of being unique. What we have is delicious food that is healthy for certain people –
- low “point” values for those who are watching their calories and counting points,
- the largest selection of gluten-free foods in the area for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance,
- low carb for those with diabetes, are pre-diabetic, or are loosing weight by counting carbs, and
- foods without most of the common food allergens (nuts, dairy, soy, etc.)
We often tell our customers that, “What is healthy for you may not work for me.” We are not a health food store in the way that most people think of health food stores. We do not sell anything except special food -- no supplements, no health & beauty aids, no protein shakes, etc.
Our store is also unique regarding its physical environment. The floor is carpeted, the windows have curtains, and our ambiance is very comfortable, warm, and child-friendly. It reminds many of our customers of a country store, and many have become friends. Many samples are available for tasting, and we encourage parents to bring their children in to try some new foods.
The staff is knowledgeable, and is able to give you individual attention if you would like assistance. We will read every food label with you if necessary! We do not provide advice about choosing a food plan, but can help you find the particular foods which will fit what you and your medical professionals have determined is the best plan for you.
We invite you to come in and visit, look around, and taste-test some of the delicious, unusual foods we have stocked for you! If you have been here before, come back -- we have new foods every week.
In the Fall of 2008 we expanded our business and opened Café DeLite. your lite Café. In keeping with the philosophy of our store, you can enjoy a healthy light breakfast or lunch. We have low cal. Low carb and gluten free soups, salads and sandwiches for eat-in or take with. Our kitchen has separate cooking equipment and preparation utensils for the Gluten-free foods.
